FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What you need to know about boiler deposits, energy loss, and cleaning frequency.

Why is chemical cleaning necessary?+
Iron, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and silica in boiler water form hematite, magnetite, and silicate deposits on pipe surfaces. This layer reduces heat transfer, causes overheating and damage to the pipe metal, and leads to production loss. A deposit of roughly 80 µm can cause at least 2% energy loss.
How often should chemical cleaning be performed?+
Contamination levels are determined through deposit quantity testing. Heavily fouled systems should be cleaned immediately; moderately fouled systems are planned for the first overhaul period. Clean systems are monitored during annual overhauls by taking pipe samples to track fouling growth.
Which standard does Proses Commissioning Technologies follow?+
All chemical cleaning and steam blowing processes are planned, executed, and reported in accordance with the German VGB S-513 standard.
What equipment do you use for field service?+
We operate with a 2×600 m³/h – 15 bar inverter-driven pump station, mixing tank, acid dosing pumps, a 3.4 MW steam generator, steam injection system, cross-flow valve station, and a field laboratory.
