In industrial boiler commissioning and maintenance projects, alkaline boil-out and acid chemical cleaning (pickling) are often used interchangeably under the generic label "chemical cleaning." In practice, the two methods differ in solution pH, target contaminant types, circuit scope, and field infrastructure requirements.
